Megan Van CotthemOriginally from the San Francisco Bay Area, Megan Van Cotthem began her dance training at Stage One Dance Center under the direction of Julie Sevier. While there, she studied many different styles of dance and was a member of their competitive and performance division, North Bay Performing Arts. In high school, Megan attended Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet on scholarship and began to focus her training in classical ballet. She went on to attend City Ballet School in San Francisco under the direction of Galina Alexandrova where she studied under artists such as Lupe Cazaldilla, Yuri Zurkhov, Kristen Long, and Katita Waldo and had the opportunity to perform many soloist roles in a variety of ballets including Sleeping Beauty, Pequita, Don Quixote, and the Nutcracker. Megan went on to attend Texas Christian University on a faculty awarded dance scholarship before transferring to the University of Washington where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts and a major in Dance. After college, Megan danced with ÆON Contemporary Dance Company, taught dance full time at studios in the greater Seattle area, and served as the Artistic Director of Momentum Dance Academy in Burien, Washington. In 2019, Megan moved to Spokane with her husband and three little boys and joined Vytal Movement.
