Juliana Brielle… owes the depth of her movement versatility to the breadth of Classical through Contemporary training with high-end instructors from the Seattle/Puget Sound Area such as Bill Evans, Daniel and Danielle Wilkins’ DASS Dance, Eva Stone, and Cornish College. Ms Brielle performed 11 seasons, with Whidbey Island Dance Theater who is nationally recognized RDAP Modern Company, as both Contemporary Principal and Classical Soloist under the Artistic Directors: Dr Susan Campbell Sandri and Ms Charlene Brown of Island Dance. She has also enjoyed the professional benefit of working with many noted commercial artists including Amy ONeal, Daniel Cruz, Christopher Jones, Gregg Russell, Nancy O’Meara, Nick Florez, Barry Youngblood, Tyce Diorio, Brian Freeman, Judy Rice, and especially with Aaron Cash in his premier work, “The Reckoning” [2009.] Also contributing Islanders: Andrea Binder, Andrea Burr, Bo Deciple, Jamee Brown Pitts, Laurentia Barbu, Leigh-Ann Cohen, and Graham Vanderwood’s SOLID buoyed her aspirations of a lifelong professional career.

During her years in Colorado Springs Juliana was a multiple CC Dance Festival Scholarship Recipient and focusing on African Dance, Arial work, Ethnic footwork techniques, Capoeira, and Alexander Technique while performing in Faculty Galas 2010, 2011. During her first seasons with HADE at the age of 15 Juliana had the privilege of working closely with Ila Conoley and Posy Knight while interning as a understudy/TA with Ormao Modern Dance Company under Artistic Director, Jan Johnson, Fall 2010; Tiffany Tinsley-Weeks further encouraged Ms Brielle through Ormao’s Choreographers’ Workshop, Summer 2011and entered several of her own works in “Open Stages” of 2013,2015. Previously in the Summer 2010, Ms Brielle danced with Bill Evans and Don Halquist in Albuquerque NM, and participated by special invitation in Boulder Jazz Dance Festival’s Teachers’ Workshop where she studied under Synergy’s Kari Tafoya, among others.

Ms Brielle traveled back and fourth from Colorado Springs and Washington State for several years continuing to pursue dance, teaching and choreographing. In 2014 she became a certified ARC Welder while studying in Curlew WA and in 2015 she became a certified Yoga instructor with Hot and Hot Power Fusion practices while rejoining the Ormao Company for the Community Printing Press Project and studying Contact Improve at CC with Sue Lesser. After taking a few years off from the dance world in 2017 as a surprise, the magical journey of parenthood began for Juliana with her daughter Neytiri and through a whirlwind of adventure journeying back to dance she discovered the Vytal Movement Dance Company. Now dancing her first season with the VMDC family Juliana Brielle’s passion and love for the art of movement has been completely revitalized and returned to life.
