Jessica Oedewaldt

Jessica Oedewaldt was born in northern Idaho where she began her dance training at Danceworks under the direction of Debi Terracciano. She moved to Boise, Idaho and trained at Eagle Performing Arts Center. During her senior year she had the privilege to perform with the pre-professional company Idaho Regional Ballet. With this company, she performed in seasonal recitals as well as the company’s Nutcracker and traveled with them to perform at Regional Dance America. After high school Jessica attended Utah Valley University obtaining a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance with a Ballet emphasis. She was awarded a one year, half tuition performance scholarship, followed by two years of full tuition performance scholarships.
Jessica was honored to be a part of Repertory Ballet Ensemble, the college’s ballet company, all four years of her college experience. This performing group gave her the opportunity to attend conventions such as Regional Dance America and American College Dance Association as well as yearly recitals and exciting collaborations with local professional dance companies.
During her senior year of college she was part of a collaboration between UVU’s Repertory Ballet Ensemble and Contemporary Dance ensemble with Regional Dance Theater, a contemporary dance group based in Salt Lake. This collaboration brought in Andy Noble to reset one of his well-known pieces, Tower, which the group was able to take to American College Dance Association.
After graduation Jessica returned to Idaho and found her love of teaching through coaching competitive gymnastics. She has recently relocated to the Coeur D'Alene area with the hope of someday owning her own dance studio.
She loves to be near the lake and spends her free time reading, swimming, or painting.
Jessica is thrilled to be a part of Vytal Movement and can't wait to share her love of dance with the Great Northwest.
